WELCOME
We are honored to share our office at the Stimson-Green Mansion with you and hope you feel at home and as comfortable as we are here. Below you will find all the necessary logistics for meetings in the space. If you have any questions, please contact your host.

ARRIVAL
Please come to the front door of the main house and ring the bell. Enter the house if the door is unlocked. The front door remains locked when unattended by a greeter. If you are delayed or unable
to attend, please text or call your host to notify in case the group is already assembled upstairs.

 

Please Note: If there are other events in the main house when you arrive and your group is not there to meet you, please let the greeter know you have a meeting on the Third Floor and head upstairs. Turn
left at the top stairs and go through the first door on the left that leads to a separate hallway. Turn right and go up the stairs marked private that leads to the top floor, which is the old staff quarters.

 

ACCESSIBILITY
The Stimson-Green Mansion (SGM) is a local City of Seattle Landmark, listed on both the Washington Heritage Register and the National Register for Historic Places. It is not ADA accessible due to its age and historical status.  Accommodations can be arranged for a stair lift to be used via the main entrance.  Please contact your host for details.


The WA Preservation Trust is happy to arrange tours whenever feasible; however, meeting attendees are requested to remain with their meeting host in the designated office at all other times. The Mansion
houses offices for other nonprofit organizations so your cooperation in respecting all parties’ use of the space is appreciated.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
There are many bus stops within blocks of the house. If you take the Link Light Rail, both the University St. Station and the Westlake Station are .7 miles away. The Mansion is served by Metro Bus Route 2, which runs along Seneca Street, or Route 12, which runs along Madison Street, two blocks to the South.


 

DRIVING
The SGM is located atop Seattle’s First Hill on Minor Avenue between Seneca and University Streets. Google Maps will direct you easily when searching the Stimson-Green Mansion, also home to the
Washington Trust for Historic Preservation. We share the block with First Hill Park.

Driving Directions (Northbound on I-5)
• Take Exit #164, Madison St.
• Turn right on Madison St. Drive 5 blocks to Minor Ave
• Turn left on Minor Ave and drive 2 blocks to Seneca St.
The Mansion is located on the corner of Minor & Seneca

Driving Directions (Southbound on I-5)
• Take Exit #166, Stewart St./Denny Way
• Drive 4 blocks on Stewart St. then Turn left on Boren Ave. You will pass Minor Ave, but this is not a through street across the freeway
• Drive 7 blocks on Boren Ave until you reach Seneca St.
• Turn left on Seneca and drive 1 block to Minor Ave.


 

PARKING

• Metered street parking is required until 8 pm and available around all surrounding blocks
• 24/7 paid parking is available at the First Hill Plaza Garage: 1099 Summit Ave, Seattle WA 98104

The small lot on the north side of the SGM is reserved for tenants in the building and their short-term visitors. After business hours, parking varies depending on events in the house. Please use discretion if you need to park here, only in a pinch. Guest parking is best along the chain-link fence. Never block driveways, other vehicles access or entrance or exits. If disabled parking is required, please inquire for pre-arrangements.
