Introduction to Restorative Retelling

Serve Clients, Protect Providers, and Follow the Law

Presented by Laura A. Takacs, LICSW, MSW, MPH

(6 CE units)

This course was most recently offered in November 2019.

This one-day, course will provide an introduction to Restorative Retelling (RR), the nationally-renowned therapeutic intervention that responds to sudden, traumatic death that was pioneered by the team at Grief Services (formerly Separation and Loss Services) at Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, WA. Restorative Retelling addresses both the trauma and grief experienced after a sudden, traumatic death. RR also reflects on the lives of those lost and survivors’ resilience, which will assist him/her to navigate such a death. This intervention is non-proprietary, made available for wide dissemination, and is currently used by professionals who work with death, trauma and grief survivors around the world (i.e. social workers, psychologists, counselors, first responders, clergy and others.)
